Our Equipment

We don’t have the newest equipment… but we’re small and funded entirely by the group owners and donations from players. What we do have is more potent and reliable than your average machine. Wayne and Tony have a combined 30+ years of professional IT experience, and know how to shop for bargains and come up with good equipment on a budget.

Our servers

Our servers are all named after Star Wars planets. Because why not…

The original

We purchased this around the beginning of 2018 to replace a clapped out Dell desktop that we were using to host games. It was just not up to the task… this was. Started out with only 48 GB of RAM, we upgraded it to 144 when we started hosting Atlas. We have since migrated some of our heavier games like our Ark cluster off this machine and onto the others.

  • HP ProLiant DL160 G6
    • Dual Xeon L5520 Quad Core 2.27 GHz CPUs
    • 144 GB ECC RAM
    • 2x 1 TB RAID1 (4 drives total)
  • Currently running:
    • Atlas (Grids A5-E5)
    • Rust
    • 7 Days to Die
    • Staxel
    • Medieval Engineers
    • Space Engineers
    • Pixark

The twins

Tatooine and Endor

These were purchased with donations from our players & those that joined us from ArkCraft specifically to have the capacity to run a usable Atlas cluster. This left plenty of space to run many other games in tandem…

    • Endor
      • Dual Xeon X5660 Hexacore 2.8 GHz CPUs
      • 144 GB ECC RAM

        • Empyrion

Network and other equipment

Franken-Router (WIP)

This was cobbled together from a few sources… A random SuperMicro case that was rescued from being recycled. A motherboard and processor from eBay. Memory and SSD I had laying around. And a lot of prayers. This runs Untangled and is essentially an overgrown router for our network.

  • SuperMicro X9SCM motherboard
  • Intel Xeon E3-1220 Quad Core 3.1 GHz CPU
  • 8 GB ECC RAM
  • 256 GB SSD

Dell KMM

This is an oddball. Visiting the shop of a friend, he had it on the shelf. I asked him about it and he said I could have it because they can’t seem to sell them. Not particularly exciting, but I thought it was cool… It’s a monitor with a keyboard and touchpad that folds up and slides into the rack.
